Teacher and budding poet!

Dear Emmanuel, Gillian, Jerame, Mark and Lisbet, and Leo,

Raksha Bajpayi joined the Apna Skool network as a teacher seven years back. Read a first person account of the teacher:

“My parents got me married when I was studying in my 12^th grade. I earned my bachelors degree after my marriage. My husband and I separated eight years back, which is around the time I joined Apna Skool.  I have two daughters and two sons. I feel I have become self reliant and am able to support my family after my association with the Apna Skool network. I am very content that both my daughters have a masters degree, are married and the eldest is employed as a clerk in a Bank. My sons are also studying to become graduates, while one of them works part time.

I am very attached to my students at Apna Skool. These are children who are very bright but have been denied one of most basic rights to education. Now through the Apna Skool, I intend to play my part in helping them become self reliant.

Apart from teaching at Apna Skool, I also involve my students in other activities like stitching, embroidery and flower making. I have an interest in poetry and write poems occasionally”.
