Kaushmi will become the Nation’s pride!

Kaushami-J-1024x768
Dear Laurent, Srikanth, Nandini, and Max,

Kaushmi is one of eight children. Her family hails from Bihar but travels to Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, every year in search of work from November to June. Her father, Karu, and mother, Samudri, are Brick Kiln workers in Kanpur. They are a family of 10 that includes her seven brothers, her parents and herself. Besides looking after the cleanliness of her small makeshift home, she also helps her parents in the brick kilns, when they need her  help.

During the monsoons, which is the lean period in brick kilns, Kaushmi goes back to her village in Bihar with her family, because of which her schooling suffers. She joined the Apna Skool education center almost a year back and fortunately, she has been able to continue her studies this year as her family decided not to return to Bihar this monsoon.

She enjoys studying at Apna Skool and spending time here, as apart from studies, they are also exposed to different activities. Kaushmi herself is particularly interested in painting. She also loves listening to stories and talking to her friends. It’s here that she has understood the importance of education and hopes that she can study as much as she can. She firmly believes that education is the only tool that can make you self-reliant and multi-faceted.

Like most children, Kaushmi loves eating sweets and looks forward to special occasions when she gets to enjoy them. Besides, this, she also loves playing Kabbadi, a traditional Indian team sport and wants to become a national level Kabbadi player when she grows up and make her nation proud.

Thank you, Laurent, for donating a year of medical care to Kaushmi, thereby ensuring that she stays healthy and safe from disease and can make the most of her opportunities.

Thank you, Srikanth, for donating  a year of study materials to Kaushmi, that will last her an entire academic year.

Thank you, Nandini, for donating an entire school year of lunches that will ensure that Kaushmi gets adequate nutrition and remains healthy and safe from illness.

Thank you, Max, for donation a set of two school uniforms to Kaushmi.

Thank you all, for coming together in support of Kaushmi!
