Ever-smiling Chandan!

Dear Steve, Craig, Brian, Mahendra, and Kandace,

Chandan’s parents, Bachoo Kumar and Kaushalya Devi migrate from Navada district in Bihar every year to work in brick kilns at Kanpur. Although he was studying in class I at a local government primary school in his village, his education discontinued due the nature of his parents’ work. Fortunately he got an opportunity to study again at an Apna Skool education centre in Badhawan brick field, Kanpur. He is now in class five at a local school in Kanpur and resides at Apna Ghar, a residential hostel of 12 children, established for those who have graduated from the Apna Skool network and are now studying in mainstream schools.

Ten year old Chandan is an inquisitive child, always enthusiastic to learn about new things with a ready smile on his face. Eldest child in the family, Chandan has a younger sister. Chandan used to assist his parents and continues to do so whenever he goes home during vacation. His parents are very happy to see Chandan getting an opportunity to lead a better life and study in a regular school as a member of Apna Ghar and now want their daughter also to get a similar opportunity.

Thank you, Steve, for gifting a year of  study materials.

Thank you, Craig, for your gift of a set of two uniforms to Chandan.

Thank you, Brian and Kandace for together gifting a full school year of lunches to Chandan.

Thank you, Mahendra, for giving a year of medical care to Chandan.

Your support  means a lot to Chandan and his family!
