Pradeep is proud of his charges

Republic Day (19)
Pradeep lives in a village called Meghnipurva near Chaubepur in Kanpur, UP. When his father passed away, he had to drop out of college and take up a job so he could support his mother. Since he liked teaching, he applied for and was appointed as a teacher at an Apna Skool center. Initially, his fellow villagers ridiculed him for his choice of career, since they could not understand why anyone would want to teach the children of migrant laborers in an informal school, but now, when he leads the neatly attired children on procession along the village streets to celebrate Independence Day and Republic Day, the same people are appreciative of Pradeep’s dedication and commitment.

Pradeep feels that his general outlook about the society has dramatically changed after his becoming a member of the Apna Skool team and this, he says, has contributed to his self esteem. He is now determined whatever career he will pursue, his concern for society will remain and he will always want to be engaged in activities of Apna Skool. He derives much happiness and peace of mind by playing a role in the upliftment of the society.

Thank you, George, Mahendra, Elena and Shanen, Jeffrey, Katherine, Lee, Leo, Marc, Michael, Molly, Cindy and Trish for coming together and supporting Pradeep’s salary for three months. Through him, you are having a positive impact on more than 30 children and their families.
