Dullo aspires to become a leader in her community

Dullo(J)
12 year old Dullo and her younger sister are both enrolled in grade 1 in an Apna Skool centre near the place they reside. Dullo’s parents mother, Jankava, and father, Ramdeen, migrated from Bihar along the entire family to work in brick kilns in Kanpur , UP. Initially Dullo was not permitted to attend school by her father, presumably because she was a girl. However, the Apna Skool teacher succeeded in persuading her father to let  Dullo and her sister attend school. She thoroughly enjoys school and is a budding poet. She likes Gujia among sweets and Banana among fruits, but gets to eat them only now and then.

She dislikes liquor drinking, which is indulged in by her father, since it leads to fighting between her parents. This bothers her much and she laments that her father persists even when he is advised not to. She thinks she would like to become a teacher, since education gives people knowledge and understanding.
